Arda’s Galatasaray return ‘cooling’

Arda Turan’s return to Galatasaray has taken a fresh twist with new claims that despite ‘advanced talks’ the negotiations have now ‘cooled off’.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, both clubs were keen for an agreement to be reached – thought to be a two-year loan move – but despite ‘advanced’ negotiations there is yet to be a breakthrough.

Marca and Rac1 both reported late on Thursday night an agreement had been struck although it now appears that these reports were somewhat premature.

The 30-year-old previously spent five years in the Turkish side’s first team, winning a league, cup and Super Cup during his stint, before joining Atletico Madrid in 2011.

Since moving to the Camp Nou in 2015 in a €34m deal, Arda has struggled to nail down a first-team place, but has scored 19 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions.
