PSG’s late N’Zonzi push – report

Paris Saint-Germain made an eleventh hour attempt to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to reports.

Marca cites a report in France Football that the Parisians had enquired for the French midfielder’s availability but due to UEFA Financial Fair Play rules they were in no position to activate his €40m release clause.

PSG Coach Unai Emery brought the former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder to La Liga and was reportedly  keen to be reunited with the 28-year-old.

It was a busy transfer window for the French giants with the incomings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe alongside a host of departures such as Jese Rodriguez, Blaise Matuidi and Serge Aurier.

N’Zonzi had been linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus earlier this summer but the Bianconeri eventually signed Matuidi due to being unable to negotiate down Los Rojiblancos.
