Bacca ‘ready’ for Levante clash

Villarreal Coach Fran Escriba has confirmed new striker Carlos Bacca is ready to make his debut for the club against Levante on Monday night.

The Colombian striker was signed on a season-long loan deal from Milan last week and is set to go straight into the Yellow Submarine’s starting eleven against the champions of La Liga 123.

“Bacca is here to play, for us there is no doubt about it (his fitness),” Escriba told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“He's someone who we already know well, everyone knows what he is capable of doing and what kind of striker he is. He will play for 90 minutes.”

Bacca netted 49 goals in 108 appearances for Sevilla in his first spell between 2013 and 2015, winning back-to-back Europa League titles.

The 30-year-old will compete for a striking position alongside Cedric Bakambu, Enes Unal and Nicola Sansonse this season.
