Real Madrid full back Abner Felipe has joined Portuguese Primeira Liga side Estoril on a season-long loan deal, it has been confirmed.
The 21-year-old moved to the Bernabeu in 2014 after establishing himself in Coritiba’s first-team as a 17-year-old but is yet to make a first-team appearance for Los Blancos.
The left back’s progress has been curtailed by two serious knee injuries limiting him to only a handful of appearances for Castilla – Madrid’s B team – but a return to fitness in the second half of last season saw him complete 21 matches.
Capped by Brazil at youth level up to Under-20 level, Abner is tipped to have a bright future in the game and coaches in Madrid view him as Marcelo’s long-term heir at the club.
