Valencia: Murillo yes, Kondogbia…

Inter have warned Valencia that “we didn’t pay two lire” for Geoffrey Kondogbia but “think” Jeison Murillo will join Los Che.

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti made the admissions ahead of the Nerazzurri’s friendly against Real Betis on Sunday, amidst speculation Kondogbia missed training in order to force a transfer to Valencia and that the Mestalla side had agreed a fee for Murillo.

“Surprised or bitter about Kondogbia? He had this idea to change [teams], it came out of the blue and I tried to convince him [to stay], but someone else probably made him certain promises,” the Coach told reporters.

“Still, [what was said] has to be shared, they have to let us know too. We didn’t pay two lire for him…

“If there’s a team that wants him then, well, let’s talk. If he doesn’t want to leave then, of course, we’d like to keep him.”

“I’ve already talked to him, I’m a bit surprised, I made a couple of little promises to him, and for me he’s important and strong.

“I’ll need a number of midfielders to tackle a League campaign. I expect more great application, professionalism and another good performance from the players.

“The transfer market? Not at this time, we want to understand what’s happened with [Kondogbia] first.

“Murillo? He wants to leave, we talked when I arrived, but there was this idea, the club had a deal with the directors and found an agreement, so I think [he’ll leave].”
