Sporting Gijon are expected to announce the signing of Malaga forward Michael Santos on Thursday, according to various reports.
Marca follows up on reports in Cadena Cope and the local Asturian press that the Uruguayan forward has already travelled to Gijon to complete his move.
On Wednesday, the 24-year-old wrote on his instagram feed ‘last night in Malaga’, only a year after signing from Argentine giants River Plate.
Santos netted three league goals in 14 outings – of which, only eight were starts – having netted 36 goals across his last two full seasons in Buenos Aires.
