Vela agrees Los Angeles move

Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela has completed his move to Los Angeles FC in a deal thought to be worth in the region of €5m.

Vela will remain at the Anoeta until January before joining the US expansion club, for whom he will become their first designated player.

The Mexican international netted 72 times in total for La Real across five seasons since joining the club from Arsenal in a €14m move.

The Basque club confirmed the sale on Tuesday afternoon before the player himself posted an online video to confirm his departure.

"I was fortunate enough to receive offers from many important clubs to leave this summer," Vela, 28, wrote on Twitter.

"But due to my love and respect for Real Sociedad's colours, I'm committed to play for the next six months here and to bring my best every time I step on the field. My goal is to keep helping the team in every one of the competitions ahead.

"I arrived to Real Sociedad on August 16, 2011, as a player on loan and on July 17, 2012, I completed my permanent transfer knowing that I was coming to a great club. After that, I spent six unforgettable years in one of the best cities in the world."
