Alvaro Cejudo moves to Australia

Western Sydney Wanderers have signed experienced midfielder Alvaro Cejudo on a free transfer from Real Betis, it has been confirmed.

The 33-year-old made 17 La Liga appearances last season for Los Verdiblancos but found himself out-of-contract at the end of June and was allowed to exit the club.

The midfielder spent the entirety of his professional career in Spain's top two divisions, making a total of 155 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 21 assists during his time in the country's top flight.

Cejudo is the Australian club’s second signing from Spain this summer following the arrival of Oriol Riera from Osasuna.
