Getafe’s Faurlin joins Cruz Azul

Argentinean midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has departed newly promoted Getafe to join Mexican side Cruz Azul, who are managed by Paco Jemez.

The 30-year-old joined the Madrid-based club a year ago and played a crucial role in the club’s immediate promotion back to the top flight in Spain, via the playoffs.

Faurlin netted five goals in 30 appearances in La Liga 123, but despite having a year remaining on his current deal he has now left for Mexico.

The former Instituto and Palermo midfielder spent six season with Queens Park Rangers in England and will link up with former Rayo Vallecano boss Jemez at the Mexican giants.
