Las Palmas negotiate with Viera

Las Palmas are hopeful of agreeing a new deal with attacking midfielder Jonathan Viera amid reports of sizable offers from the Premier League.

According to Marca, the 27-year-old’s representatives are in talks with Los Amarillos president Miguel Angel Ramirez over a new deal at the club which would make him the ‘highest earner’.

Reports have suggested Swansea City have offered €25m while Everton bettered that with a €30m – which is rumoured to be the player’s release clause.

With Newcastle United also said to be monitoring the situation, Las Palmas are keen to put on a show of strength by tying the highly-rated player down to a new deal.

The former Valencia and Rayo Vallecano player rejoined his hometown club in 2014 and has netted 24 league goals in three campaigns, with Newcastle United also said to be interested.
