Herrera 'will do everything' for DDG stay

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera will ‘do everything possible’ to ensure goalkeeper David De Gea will not leave the club.

The 27-year-old’s comments came in the wake of reports in England which suggested his teammate and compatriot could once again be targeted by Spanish and European champions Real Madrid.

"Maybe I am a bit boring on this, but I always say the same," Herrera is quoted as saying by Cadena Ser.

"David is one of the few keepers who give you points over the course of a season. I prefer to have him with me, so I will do everything possible to have him here."

Relations between United and Madrid are said to be fraught following De Gea’s transfer breakdown two years ago and a collapsed move for Alvaro Morata this summer.
