Ander Herrera insists “there’s no truth” to reports linking him with Barcelona as “I’m very happy at Manchester United.”
Speculation earlier in the summer suggested Barca had identified Herrera as a player to reinforce their midfield, but the 27-year-old made it clear he had no intention of leaving United.
“There’s no truth to Barcelona because I’m very happy at United. I also feel valued by United and I’m focused on them,” he said after the Red Devils’ 5-2 win against LA Galaxy at the International Champions Cup.
“Real Madrid in the European Super Cup? are the strongest team right now, they’ve won the last two Champions Leagues, but a Super Cup Final always motivates you.
“I’ll be just as motivated. Of course, playing against Madrid is a good test for us.
“Getting back into the Champions League was crucial for the club, we’ll be one of the teams to beat. We’re a strong team with a winning Coach.
“Morata? Of course, I began to see Morata as a teammate, it was very close because the two clubs were in talks.
“Too bad he’s not with us, but I wish him well.”
