€500m release clause for Ceballos?

Dani Ceballos reportedly has a €500m release clause as the Real Madrid new boy bids “to do everything I can to make the history of this club even greater.”

Ceballos’ transfer to Madrid from Real Betis was formalised on Friday, and AS claims the clause is a sign of Los Blancos’ belief that the midfielder will realise his “huge” potential at the club, while scaring off other teams.

“You can’t imagine the pride and responsibility I feel for Real Madrid,” he tweeted.

“I’ll do everything I can to make the history of this club even greater. I arrive with enormous enthusiasm and the two things that have brought me here: humility and hard work.

“I’ll try to prove that I deserve to defend this shirt. Hala Madrid!”

The 20-year-old also reserved words of praise for his former club.

“I’ll always carry Betis’ badge in my heart and I’m deeply grateful to all the people who form the Verdiblancos family for having formed me as a player and also a person,” he added.

“Thank-you to all the Betis fans for the affection you have given me from the first minute to the last. I’ll never forget you. Long live Betis.”
