Madrid to break record for Mbappe?

Real Madrid are prepared to make Kylian Mbappe the most expensive player in the world but the deal depends on the sale of Alvaro Morata, say reports in Spain.

According to Marca, Madrid are ready to pay in excess of Manchester United’s transfer of Paul Pogba last summer to clinch a deal for Mbappe but they must well Morata and James Rodriguez to balance the books.

Monaco are said to be open to selling the 18-year-old for €130m – €20m more than Madrid’s latest offer –  and are tempted by a deal this summer to exploit his peak transfer valuation, which may decrease should his form dip next year.

Los Blancos have reportedly guaranteed the French striker regular first team football, a €6-7m annual salary and a six-year contract.

Zinedine Zidane, an idol of Mbappe growing up, reportedly personally contacted the player and his family to reassure him over all aspects of the deal.
