New Alaves signing Enzo Zidane has called on reporters to not compare him to his father Zinedine as he has his ‘own way of playing’.
The 22-year-old joined the Basque side from Real Madrid on a three-year contract this summer, meaning the two are likely to go head-to-head this season.
"There have always been comparisons, I am used to that, and do not think much about it," Enzo told a press conference upon his unveiling.
"My father is my father. I am Enzo. We play in the same position, but I have my own way of playing.
"I think about playing, working hard, improving every day. I am a player with technical quality and a vision of play, for the team above all.
“I like to make the team play well. I will do the most possible so that we all have a great year together.
"Alaves is a club with a project that from the start I have liked a lot, very serious, with a big future – a team which had an incredible season last year, reaching the Copa del Rey final.
“They have gone for young players. From the start I felt happy with all the people here. Among all the options I had it was the best for me. There were no doubts from the start."
