Betis target PSV’s Guardado

Real Betis are working to continue their squad overhaul and have been linked with a move to PSV Eindhoven midfielder Andres Guardado by reports in Spain.

The 30-year-old midfielder has one-year left on his contract at the Dutch giants who are keen to recoup a small transfer fee this summer rather than lose him on a free next year.

Diario AS reports Betis vice president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer is now working on a deal for the Mexican, following the completion of deals for Cristian Tello, Victor Camarasa and Sergio Leon.

Guardado has previously spent seven seasons in La Liga, playing for both Deportivo La Coruna and Valencia and helped Mexico to the semi finals of the Confederations Cup.

A number of MLS-based sides are also interested in the midfielder, who’s preference is to stay in Europe.
