United track Alba – report

Manchester United are considering a move for Barcelona full back Jordi Alba but all parties accept a deal this summer is unlikely, say reports.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils have upped their interest in the 28-year-old who had been considering his future at the Camp Nou but has been ‘calmed’ by the arrival of Coach Ernesto Valverde.

The former Valencia defender made only 21 La Liga starts last season for the Catalans last season after previous boss Luis Enrique switched to 3-4-3 formation, although it appears he may feature more in a different system.

The Blaugrana signed Lucas Digne last summer to offer competition to Alba while United used several left backs in the previous campaign including Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian.
