Marseille move for Sevilla’s Rami?

Defender Adil Rami looks set to leave Sevilla this summer as negotiations with French club Olympique Marseille near a conclusion.

The 31-year-old is halfway through a four-year deal at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan but France Football report a €6m fee and tempting wage increase will persuade the central defender to move on this summer.

"Yes, there is an interest from Olympique Marseille," Rami is quoted as saying by AS last month.

"My agents are in charge of that. It's a very interesting project and the club wants to point very high. It is a great challenge.

"The fact that I know the Marseille technical staff would be important, I know the coach and his philosophy. He also knows my character. That is a plus."

Rami played under current Marseille Coach Rudi Garcia for three seasons at Lille and won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France Double in 2011, before leaving for Valencia.
