Berizzo appointed at Sevilla

Sevilla have confirmed Eduardo Berizzo will replace Jorge Sampaoli at the club with the former Celta Vigo Coach signing a two-year deal.

Los Rojiblancos have released a statement to confirm the Argentine will arrive in the city in the coming days to sign the deal and be unveiled to the club’s fans.

The 47-year-old Berizzo led Celta to the semi finals of the Europa League this season, where they were eliminated by eventual champion Manchester United, while he also reached the last four of the Copa Del Rey twice with the Galicians.

Sevilla reached the Champions League knockout stages in Sampaoli’s sole season in charge and were involved in a league title race until March, when a series of poor results derailed them.

After months of speculation, Sampaoli left the Andalucians after the end of the campaign to sign a deal to become Argentina Coach.
