Ramos hopes United sign Griezi

Sergio Ramos is hopeful Manchester United sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer as it would be beneficial for Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old Frenchman reportedly told Los Rojiblancos he wants to leave the club this summer having previously rated his chances of moving to Old Trafford as ‘six out of ten’ the previous week.

"If they [Manchester United] take him, if they take him out from Atletico, it would be less of a problem for us ahead of next season," Ramos told Cadena Cope when asked about Griezmann's potential move to the English club.

"Every footballer is their own world and one must make these kind of decisions. Sometimes they are difficult and sometimes they are not.

“Everyone has to decide where he wants to be, where he is going to be happy. He is a great striker and obviously the top clubs express interest in getting their services. He can decide what he wants."

The forward – who will join the France squad for the games against Paraguay and Sweden next week – netted 26 goals in total for Atleti last season and was instrumental in their run to the Champions League semi finals and a third place finish in La Liga.
