Ronaldo happy with Madrid role

Cristiano Ronaldo insists he is happy with his reduced role at Real Madrid, who “are the best and want to be champions.”

Ronaldo has been rested for various games and substituted in several by Zinedine Zidane this season, but many have pointed to this as the reason for his clinical end to the campaign, with another brace for Madrid in Wednesday’s 4-1 win at Celta Vigo.

“We have to keep going until the end, we had a very good game and played well,” the Portuguese said after the final whistle at Balaidos.

“We know that Malaga are strong at home, but we have to go there and win.

“Oour objective is always to win, we know they’re a good team, but we’re Real Madrid, we’re the best and we want to be champions.

“Zidane? He always wins in the end and he’s managed us very well. We also have a very good and young squad.

“I’m feeling well, everything will be decided this weekend and I’m doing well, scoring goals and helping the team.

“Double? We’re only thinking about Sunday, we have to win, and for the Champions League we’ll have time to prepare well afterwards.

“My miss? I opened the scoring and scored our second, that’s the important thing.

“Misses aren’t normal for me, but I’m human and I can miss sometimes.”
