Preview: Alaves-Celta

Europa League semi-finalists Celta Vigo will be looking to end a run of four straight defeats in La Liga when they take on in-form Alaves this Sunday.

Alaves boss Mauricio Pellegrino on Theo Hernandez: “I guess what Theo’s conveying on the outside can’t be what’s happening inside.

“He’s a kid, but he’s also a professional and it can’t be easy for him to experience all this. On the other hand, it can help him feel free.”

Celta boss Eduardo Berizzo on staying next season: ”Before the campaign is out, my situation must be addressed. That’s my wish.

“My feeling sometimes becomes more optimistic than at other times, but it also fluctuates.

“I must acknowledge the great respect that I feel for everyone. Hopefully in the next few days, my agent will talk to the club and sort things out.

“If I feel secure and valued, it’ll take nothing else for me to sign an extension.

“I’m interested in the same economic path taken by this sporting project and what they’re trying to achieve.

“I’ve loved traveling around Europe like we have, but to settle in the noble zone of the Spanish League, you have to build a very solid team and that needs important footballing reinforcements.”
