Lega’s Szymanowski a Betis target

Leganes winger Alexander Szymanowski is a transfer target for Real Betis, according to multiple reports in Spain.

The Argentine, who’s deal at Butarque expires at the end of the current campaign, has netted seven goal and registered two assists in 26 La Liga appearances.

Estadio Deportivo, ABC de Sevilla and Marca all state Los Verdiblancos, while Levante are also said to be keeping tabs on the 28-year-old’s situation.

“Betis is a great club and one of the most historical in Spain,” the former Recreativo and Brondby man told ABC ahead of Lega’s tie against the Seville-based side last Monday night.

“I’ve had the opportunities to go to game in Estadio Benito Villamarin and the atmosphere is special, as is the city.

“Betis are a strong side and have probably underperformed this year but they have a lot of things to look forward to.”

Earlier on Thursday, reports claimed Betis had concluded the €3.5m signing of Osasuna front-man Sergio Leon.
