Athletic Bilbao have called a Press conference for Thursday, where Ernesto Valverde’s future is likely to be on the agenda.
Although the Press conference is described as “usual” on Athletic’s official website, it will be taken by President Josu Urrutia, while AS believes the opportunity will be used to clarify Valverde’s position.
The Basque has managed Los Leones since 2013, guiding them to the Champions League a year later and a Supercopa in 2015 – their first piece of silverware in 31 years.
However, Valverde’s contract expires this summer and he is one of the favourites to replace Luis Enrique at Barcelona.
Athletic notched up their fourth straight win on Sunday as they defeated Celta Vigo 3-0 to regain sixth place in La Liga.
