Sevilla move level with Atleti

Sevilla moved level on points with third-placed Atletico Madrid after defeating 10-man Celta Vigo at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday evening.

Substitute Wissam Ben Yedder scored three minutes after coming on to seal the win after an Iago Aspas penalty had cancelled out Joaquin Correa’s opener, while the mid-table visitors lost Pablo Hernandez to a second yellow card in the 56th minute.

French striker Ben Yedder poked home a low cross from the left at the near post to settle Sevilla nerves in the 79th minute after they had been frustrated by a resolute Celta.

Correa opened the scoring four minutes after the break with a controlled finish but Eduardo Berizzo’s men hit back when Iago Aspas levelled from the spot four minutes later – the penalty awarded for holding on John Guidetti and the decision hotly contested by Sevilla players.
