Quique Setien fees Las Palmas need to be wary of Athletic Club’s ‘long balls’ to Aritz Aduriz when the sides meet on Friday.
The Canary Islands-outfit will be without Jese, who Setien confirmed is missing due to a stomach complaint, but Pedro Bigas is fit.
“They’re going well and we’ll have to be focused. We’re aware of the huge potential [of Athletic] and their long balls, so we will try to counteract it with our weapons,” he said, AS reports.
“When we don’t have the ball it will be very difficult for us so the key will be to win it back and not let it get into our area. When they have it we’ll see if we are aggressive enough. We’ve got a Plan B prepared and also a Plan C.
“Athletic are one of the teams like Celta Vigo and Eibar playing to get into Europe. They’re very intense, with strong players. They have enough resources to control the game. But they are also wary of us. We know we can hurt them and they know it too.”
