Romero: Malaga must calm down

Marcelo Romero urged his Malaga side to calm down after they had another player sent off on Saturday against Eibar.

Malaga were roundly beaten 3-0 by Eibar to end any hopes of a winning run after their victory over Las Palmas at the start of the week, but Romero was more concerned with Roberto Rosales seeing red, given the Andalusians also went down to 10 men against the islanders.

“We played well, it was a tight game in which we conceded three goals, although we didn’t deserve to,” the Coach said after the game.

“We have to forget about this game, we have to keep our heads cool and not protest on the pitch, although we faced some strange situations.

“The team don’t deserve what’s happening to them. We’ve had cards to the coaching staff and Rosales, plus Pablo [Fornals] for protesting.

“That’s what we’ve received in our last four games. The whole team have to dedicate themselves to playing.

“The team did a great job, they tried to play football at a difficult place to go. When you want to attack, Eibar cut your moves short.

“The players tried and worked hard. Now we have to prepare for Tuesday’s game against Betis, we have to turn the page and think only about Betis.”
