Malaga secure first win since November

Malaga secured their first victory since November with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at home to Las Palmas in Monday night's La Liga action.

Mauricio Lemos gave Quique Setien’s side the lead at La Rosaleda but goals from Malaga's Pablo Fornals and striker Charles completed a spirited turnaround for the hosts.

Despite plenty of possession and Malaga being reduced to ten men for the final twenty minutes after Jose Rodriguez’s dismissal for a second yellow card, but Las Palmas – who are without an away win since August – could not force their way back into the game.

It was a first victory for Malaga Coach Marcelo Romero, who replaced Juande Ramos in December, and saw his side move ten points clear of the relegation zone into 12th, two points behind Las Palmas.
