Players confident in Lucho – Iniesta

Andres Iniesta insists Barcelona players have not lost confidence in Coach Luis Enrique following Sunday’s nervy victory at home to Leganes.

Lionel Messi’s late penalty saw the hosts edge out the struggling Madrid-side who arguably deserved at least a point from the encounter, but the influential midfielder believes the current form is a ‘one-off situation’.

"We've not lost confidence in ourselves or in the manager," Iniesta told the media after the game.

"I think it's a one-off situation we're going through. I'm sure we'll recover those sensations which have seemed lost and our winning mentality for the upcoming challenges.

"Nothing is lost and we have to be convinced that we'll get back to doing things the right way. We can't keep looking back. We have to look forward and fight for everything — I don't have any doubts in this team."

The 32-year-old did however admit the 4-0 hammering at Paris Saint-Germain five days earlier had been on the minds of him and his teammates.

"We knew it was going to be difficult after what happened in Paris," Iniesta added.

"Of course that had an influence. It wasn't easy going into the game today after that. We're humans and these things affect us.

"There were some strange feelings: frustration, a lack of confidence … it's inevitable. And then the way the game developed didn't help.

"Despite the early goal we weren't able to put distance between ourselves and Leganes and that led to nerves and made the game difficult."
