Granada name 11 nationalities

Granada made La Liga history in their 4-1 win against Real Betis on Friday as their starting line-up consisted of 11 different nationalities.

Guillermo Ochoa (Mexico), Adrian Ramos (Colombia), Sverrir Ingason (Iceland), Gaston Silva (Uruguay), Martin Hongla (Cameroon), Mubarak Wakaso (Ghana), Andreas Pereira (Brazil), Dimitri Foulquier (France), Uche Agbo (Nigeria) and Mehdi Carcela (Morocco) joined Spanish left-back Litri Hernandez in Granada’s multicultural XI.

La Masia graduates Sergi Samper and Isaac Cuenca appeared as substitutes, as did Greek midfielder Panagiotis Kone, in a first for La Liga.

Goals from Carcela, Pereira – who was also sent off – and Ramos (x2) secured a second win in three games for the Andalusians, leaving them provisionally two points off safety.
