Madrid return for De Gea?

Real Madrid may return for Manchester United’s David de Gea in the summer as they believe the goalkeeper has a release clause in his contract, say reports.

Marca have made a front page splash on their Thursday edition titled ‘De Gea Operation 2’, referencing Los Blancos failed attempt to land the Spanish international in the summer of 2015, when the club could not get their registration papers sorted in time.

The report starts by saying De Gea is ‘again the big goal’ for Madrid this summer and that initial contact between the clubs has already been made, later stating that he could cost €65m.

Previous Spanish reports said the 26-year-old’s ‘exit clause’ from Old Trafford expired last summer, although it has never been confirmed that such a clause existed.

Zinedine Zidane is reportedly a huge fan of De Gea, who Marca believe ‘fits the bill’ but the report concludes by saying current United boss Jose Mourinho would make any deal extremely difficult for the Madrid-based side.
