Experienced forward Sergio Garcia could make a return to Espanyol in January, 18 months after leaving the club for Qatari side Al-Rayyan.
The 33-year-old ended a five-year spell at Estadi Cornellà-El Prat in the summer of 2015 but is now being lined up by Quique Sanchez Flores’ side for a return to the Catalans, to coincide with the anticipated departure of Felipe Caicedo.
Marca reports Garcia is keen to return to the club where he spent five seasons and scored 44 goals, while Al-Rayyan will reportedly allow him to leave this window if he wishes.
In his first season in Qatar, the former Barcelona and Betis striker netted 16 times in 24 appearances but has scored only seven goals in 17 outings this campaign.
