Ramos completes Granada move

Granada have completed the loan signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Adrian Ramos until the end of the season, the club have confirmed.

The Colombian striker will then join Chongqing Dangdai Lifan FC in May – the Chinese Super League outfit are under the same ownership as the Andalucian side, hence the loan agreement.

"I would have liked to keep him, and regret it," Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel previously said.

"Adrian expressed his desire to leave in every transfer period. It's different being the number two striker at his age than at a younger age.

"With a heavy heart, we've accepted his wish, but his decision for more playing time is understandable. Auba will come back soon, and he's our starter. We'll have other options until then."

The 31-year-old joined Dortmund in 2014 but has appeared mainly as a substitute, scoring 19 goals in 75 appearances following more prolific spells at America de Cali and Hertha Berlin.

“Adrian Ramos was presented with a lucrative offer from China last year. When he came to us once again during the winter to express his desire to leave the club and move to China, we decided to grant his wish,” said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.

“Moreover, it is a very valuable offer for a player who turned 31 years last Sunday.”

Ramos becomes Granada's third signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Sverrir Ingi Ingason and Panagiotis Kone.
