Romero: ‘Malaga will attack’

Malaga boss Marcelo Romero insists his team will attack Real Madrid when they visit the Bernabeu today.

The Andalusia club are on a poor run of form, with the Uruguayan tactician still searching for his first League points since succeeding Juande Ramos just before the turn of the year.

However, Los Boquerones remain comfortably in midtable and their Coach is optimistic about his players' chances at the home of the European champions.

"We have worked a lot on the spaces their full-backs leave when they go forward," Romero told reporters. "That is where we need to attack.

"We know that the match will force us to defend, so we will go out to attack from the start.

"They come into it after losing to Celta in the Copa del Rey, so they will be hurt. We know the situation we are facing and that will be an added difficulty."

Romero is also convinced that morale in the Malaga camp remains high, despite a poor recent run of results.

"I see the boys happy and enjoying the moment, despite everything. They know the situation is not too bad.

"I think they are happy with the work and the Coach. However, we have to try to make sure the young players aren't affected."
