Real Sociedad midfielder Ruben Pardo will join Real Betis on loan until the end of the campaign but renew his contract in San Sebastian.

The 24-year-old former Spanish youth international has amassed 134 appearances for La Real’s first team but has found playing time hard to come by this season, featuring in only three matches.

He is set to join Los Verdiblancos on a deal until the end of the season but the Basque side are reportedly unwilling to let him go on a permanent deal and indeed will renew his current deal, which expires in June 2018, by a further two years.

Pardo will become Victor Sanchez del Amo’s first signing as Betis boss and so far has overseen the departure of Charly Musonda, who has returned to Chelsea following his loan spell, after injury meant he could not meet the ‘minimum appearance’ clause that was part of the deal.
