Granada sign Ingason

Granada have completed the signing of Icelandic defender Sverrir Ingi Ingason from Belgian side Lokeren for a reported fee of €1.5m.

The 23-year-old was part of the Icelandic squad for Euro 2016 – although found playing time limited due to having just recovered from injury – and El Grana confirmed he completed his medical with the club on Tuesday.

Ingason made over 60 appearances for Lokeren across two-and-a-half seasons after a stint in Norway with Viking, and is one of the highly-rated emerging talents from the country of Iceland.

Capped over nine times by his country, scoring three goals, the defender becomes the Nasrids first signing of the January transfer window and follows the departures of Jon Toral and David Barral.

According to various media reports, Lucas Alcaraz’s side are also closing in on the signing of Greek international midfielder Panagiotis Kone, currently at Udinese.
