‘The game surpassed us’ – Alcaraz

Granada boss Lucas Alcaraz lamented his side’s draw with Osasuna in La Liga’s basement clash as ‘the importance of the game surpassed us’.

Oriol Riera gave Osasuna a first half lead which Artem Kravets cancelled out midway through the second half, but neither side could earn a potentially crucial three points.

"In the first half we somehow did everything that we did not want to do; we left with little confidence and a lot of nerves, and going behind in these sorts of fixtures is a massive blow.

“The importance of the game totally surpassed us in this phase and thankfully we managed to rectify the situation somewhat in the second half, but a draw isn’t really enough for us.

“The match went back and forth – it was possible to win, lose or draw so in the end the result is the least dramatic one.”

When asked about the impact of midfielder Uche Henry Agbo’s red card, Alcaraz responded that ‘young players make mistakes’ and that this was not a game-changing moment.
