Toral leaves Granada, set for Rangers

Arsenal have recalled Jon Toral from his loan spell at Granada and it is expected the midfielder will join Glasgow Rangers on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined El Grana on loan in a summer deal from the Gunners having previously enjoyed successful spells at Brentford and Birmingham City in the English Championship, but he has featured only six times at Estadio Nuevo Carmenes this campaign, netting once.

He joined the Andalucians at the behest of boss Paco Jemez, who was dismissed after only six matches, and has struggled for game-time since under new manager Lucas Alcaraz.

Both the player and Arsenal are keen for the former Barcelona youth product to earn more playing time while Rangers boss Mark Warburton saw his signature as a priority this month.

Toral has never made a senior appearance for Arsenal, whom he joined in 2011 from the Blaugrana alongside Hector Bellerin.
