Las Palmas hopes of signing Jese Rodriguez from PSG now hang in the balance after it has emerged Liverpool, Roma and AC Milan are also interested.
Miguel Angel Ramirez, the president of the Canary Islands club, has told the Las Provincia newspaper he is now pessimistic about his club’s chances of bringing the former Real Madrid forward to his hometown club due to the emergence of interest from others.
"Jese Rodriguez is a great footballer. He wants to come to Las Palmas, but he is owned by PSG and earns a salary that is of his level and that is very high,” Ramirez explained.
"Liverpool, Milan and Roma want Jese and are ready to pay what he earns. We cannot afford that salary.
"With respect to other clubs, we are at a disadvantage and hence we have to wait. But we don't want to create false expectations."
The 23-year-old has made only one start for the French champions since joining from Madrid in August, and he is widely expected to be allowed to leave the Parisians in January.
