Sampaoli: Sevilla not at their best

Jorge Sampaoli lamented Sevilla’s inability to be at their “best” during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Granada, who won for the first time in La Liga.

Goals from Andreas Pereira and David Lomban lifted Granada off the bottom while preventing Sevilla from leapfrogging Barcelona into second, and Sampaoli accepted his side deserved to lose.

“I was disappointed with the result as I was hoping we’d keep our run going,” the Coach said after the game.

“The game was very confusing for us, we couldn’t make our dominance count and we spent too much time looking for but not finding what we came for.

“Granada’s win was fair, but we couldn’t find the best version of ourselves.

“They defended with a unit of conviction at the end of the game, while we only attacked occasionally.”
