Real Sociedad boss Eusebio has admitted his team are in ‘a great moment’ as their fine form continued with a 3-1 victory at Sporting Gijon on Sunday.
The win takes La Real up to fifth – ahead of Atletico Madrid – and onto the cusp of the Champions League qualification places, though the boss has admitted his team must stay focused to maintain momentum.
“We are in a great moment and the team spirit is fantastic,” Eusebio told reports after the encounter at El Molinon.
“We have experience in previous years when we have been the better team in matches yet have lost, but this team is better than it was a year ago and we have the opportunity to keep improving.
“It was key to stop Sporting’s counter attack – we controlled the game and it was crucial we did not become complacent or leave ourselves too open, I’m very proud of the performance.”
Real Sociedad next host champions Barcelona, while Sporting travel to Real Madrid.
