La Real employ homeless man

Real Sociedad have given a homeless man sleeping rough outside their Anoeta ground a job on their maintenance team.

The man, known as Ruben, has been sleeping on the streets of San Sebastian for the past three years and has been camped outside the gates of La Real's stadium for the past eight months, it has been reported by Marca.

He has now signed a two-month deal with the club after years of surviving through donations of food and clothes from locals, with the deal to be extended if the work goes well.

"I was starting to believe there was no good people," explained Ruben, who has now found temporary accommodation.

"After so many blows, you start to give up hope, but this is different."
