‘Celta will demand all of Villarreal’

Fran Escriba has warned Villarreal that Celta Vigo “will demand the maximum and push us all to our limits” on Sunday.

Villarreal are the only team still unbeaten outside La Liga’s top three, but standing in their way of an eighth straight match without defeat is Celta, who memorably beat Barcelona 4-3 before the international break.

“They’ll demand the maximum and push us all to our limits,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“What I don’t like is the feeling that [your opponents] aren’t doing well and you think it can be easy.

“They’re a team that play and compete well, which is what we’re expecting.

“It’s true that they didn’t start well, but they’re now recovering their level and playing very well.

“It’s not easy to win games nowadays and this one’s very complicated. Celta are a team that play with a lot of control and we don’t want it that way.

“We don’t want to play on the counterattack and we’ll look to have the ball, which is one of the changes we want.

“The players who stayed back may have more chances [to play]. It’s true that Musacchio and Borre have just returned, so we’ll see how they are.

“Cheryshev has a small muscle problem. It’s not a tear, but he’ll rest for this match. We don’t want to risk him.”
