Alba suffers hamstring injury

Jordi Alba is set to miss Spain’s next game against Albania on Sunday after injuring his hamstring during Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Italy.

Alba pulled up just 22 minutes into the game at Juventus Stadium, forcing him to be substituted for Nacho Fernandez, and Marca reports initial tests on the Barcelona full-back have shown up a hamstring injury in his left leg.

The former Valencia man will undergo more examinations on Friday to fully determine the extent of his setback, but he is not expected to be back in time for La Roja’s third 2018 World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
