Eibar won’t wear yellow at Bernabeu

Eibar have confirmed they will not play in their usual home kit and not their yellow away kit against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Saturday.

The Basque side clarified rumours that they may opt to sport their away jersey for the match to take into account their opponents recent poor record against teams playing in yellow, but they will remain in their home strip of claret and blue.

Real Madrid have drawn three consecutive games against team wearing the colour – Villarreal, Las Palmas and Borussia Dortmund – and yellow was also worn by Cadiz last season as Real Madrid were eliminated from the Copa Del Rey due to playing the suspended Denis Cherysev.

“We have a claret and blue shirt which is the main kit for the first team and as there is no conflict in colours, we will play in that strip as we always do,” the club said.
