Mangala: Valencia was my destiny

New Valencia signing Eliaquim Mangala has explained how he feels his move to the club was 'destiny' and that he is very happy with the move.

The central defender, who joins Pako Ayestaran's side on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season, made the remarks in an interview with Valencia CF's official radio station.

"I am very happy to be here and to have joined such a big club," stated the 25-year-old.

"I previously had two chaces to join the club and this was my third, so it felt like the final opportunity and it was one I wanted to take.

"It feels like my destiny to be here right now and I can't wait to get started.

"I can't wait to start training and to be ready for selection against Betis."

Having spent two seasons in Manchester following a stint at FC Porto, the French international feels he can offer a lot to Valencia.

"I am here to showcase my quality and potential to my teammates, coaches and fans," he continued.

"The aim this season is to be as close to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico as possible."
