Rulli: La Real today but the future…

Gero Rulli is happy to continue at Real Sociedad for the short-term but admits his long-term future could be elsewhere. ‘We’ll see what happens…’

Rulli is on loan at Anoeta from Manchester City after a convoluted operation that saw the Premier League club buy the goalkeeper’s rights from Deportivo Maldonado, loan him back to La Real and then agree to let him stay in the Basque Country permanently from December, but retain a buy-back option.

“It’d be a lie to say any player doesn’t want to be at the best clubs in the world. Today I want to be at La Real, to represent these colours, and then what happens later, we’ll see, but if you look to the future you constrain the present and I don’t want that,” he said at his presentation, Marca reports.

“I didn’t come here to fight against relegation. The aims are the highest possible and the whole team has high goals. We are very committed and we start with great enthusiasm.”
