Sergio Ramos believes Real Madrid were worthy winners of the European Super Cup after their 3-2 extra time victory over Sevilla.
“I think the whole team were deserved winners of this trophy,” maintained Ramos, whose stoppage time equaliser took the game into an extra 30 minutes.
“I’m super happy and had the good fortune to level things. Despite conceding the penalty you must turn the page and keep fighting to turn things around.
“It’s always important to give everything and Madrid’s DNA is not only to win, but also to fight and compete whether there is a minute or a second left.
“At Madrid that is something you are obliged to do and that is why we always end up getting goals in the final stages.
“What is important today is to enjoy this victory as it is a European title and it takes a lot to win a Supercup.mTherefore, it must be given a lot of importance.”
