La Real in for Llorente?

Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente has emerged as a target for Real Sociedad, as they look for a replacement for Jonathas.

Jonathas is expected to leave imminently and Imanol Agirretxe continues to suffer injury problems, so La Real will soon be in need of additions in attack, Mundo Deportivo reports.

Llorente is considered viable economically as Sevilla are eager to offload the former Juventus target man after a poor first year at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, though talks between the clubs aren’t yet under way.

He is Sevilla’s second-highest paid player, behind only Yevhen Konoplyanka, and that has made it difficult to find clubs to take Llorente off Los Rojiblancos’ hands, but Llorente’s wife is from San Sebastian and they spent the summer there.

Neither side rules out a loan or a permanent move, with Llorente contracted to 2018, and La Real could account for the €3m-a-year he is paid by Sevilla by offering him a longer contract on lower terms.

He stands to earn €6m over the duration of the final two years of his deal at Nervion and that would be too much for La Real, who would instead offer three years at €2m-a-year, a pay packet comparable to that of Jonathas.
