Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed Barcelona’s interest in Samuel Umtiti but insists “there are no negotiations”.
Mundo Deportivo claimed on Saturday that Barca had agreed a five-year contract with Umtiti for a fee in the region of €20m, to which Aulas made it clear such reports were wide of the mark, although the Catalans “enquired about him 10 days ago”.
“Barca enquired about him 10 days ago, but Samuel isn’t about to leave. There are no negotiations,” the patron told Eurosport.
The player’s agent and brother Yannick Umtiti added: “I don’t know where this information has come from.
“We’re not in contact with Barcelona. In no way have I negotiated a move to Barcelona for Samuel.”
